We are pleased to present the latest updates for Vaylo. These updates focus on making your administration simpler, faster, and more flexible.

Updates to the Booking Confirmation

An updated booking confirmation will be released tomorrow. We encourage you all to test it and provide us with feedback if there is anything you feel is missing.

  • Image from the tour is displayed on the first page. If there is more than one image, you select the one you wish to show as the "main image".
  • Support for FIT (Free Independent Traveler) as segments from the itinerary tab are now included as part of the travel plan.
  • Price information shows the payment details for each respective payment date.
  • Same layout for both the Quotation and the Booking Confirmation.
  • For Quotations, you can enter your own text on the first page.

We will continue to update the booking confirmation on an ongoing basis, so please do not hesitate to reach out with feedback.

New Features and Major Enhancements

These updates introduce new functionalities and significant improvements to existing modules:

  • Send email directly from tours:
    • A new "Email" tab on the Tour Details page allows you to view, manage, and compose emails associated with that specific tour (including emails from all bookings).
  • Online booking customization options:
    • A new configuration interface in the admin portal lets you easily customize your booking widget. Go to System Administration -> Configurations -> Widget to update.
  • Include company code in Booking ID:
    • Booking IDs can now include a company-specific prefix (e.g., VA-25-0345). This can be added in settings.
  • Allowed to create tours with zero capacity:
    • You can now create tours with zero capacity, which is useful for marking a tour as full even without active bookings (e.g., private/closed tours).

Improvements

These changes optimize and extend the functionality in existing parts of the system:

Enhancements for PNR & Itinerary:

  • Improved PNR Excel Import: Replaces "Deadline Date" with "Deadline Days" to calculate the deadline from the first segment's departure date. New validation has been added.
  • Blocks the import of matching PNR numbers within the last three years.
  • Linked PNR names are handled better by removing linked passengers and updating the passenger count.
  • A direct booking link has been added to the PNR view header (in addition to the existing one in the PNR list).
  • Partial search is now available for booking/quotation references.

Booking Report:

  • Report fields have been updated.
    • Added fields: Departure Date, Departure Time, Flight Number, Arrival Date, Arrival Time, Flight Number.
    • Removed fields: Booking Date, Currency, Booking Status, Departure Status.

Dynamic Custom Amount Setting:

  • When paying a custom amount in the customer portal, the payment amount now automatically updates as the user enters the amount – no need to click the "Set" button.

Import Amadeus User ID:

  • A unique login ID from the Amadeus API is now stored with each PNR, allowing filtering of the "Add PNR" list in the Itinerary tab based on the user who created the PNR.

PNR Smoother Retrieval:

  • Users can now retrieve PNRs directly by clicking the "Update Amadeus" buttons in the Add/Manage PNR window under the Itinerary tab.

Analytics API Update:

  • The Analytics API now provides more detailed booking information. Discounts for bookings and tours are centralized into a single field supporting percentage, fixed amount, and coupon types.

Supplier Type Update:

  • A new "Package" option has been added to the supplier types and can be selected under the "Other" section in the Itinerary tab.

Removed Validation for Destination/Departure:

  • The mandatory validation for the Destination and Departure fields under Itinerary → Other has been removed for increased flexibility.

Customer Portal Improvement (Mobile View):

  • The mobile view of the customer portal has been enhanced with several small adjustments for better usability and layout consistency.

Bug Fixes

We have resolved several issues to ensure a more stable and smoother user experience:

  • No cancellation emails for draft bookings:
    • We have stopped sending cancellation emails for quotations, which previously caused confusion for passengers.
  • Fixed screen flickering:
    • Screen flickering during the addition of itinerary fields upon PNR creation has been resolved by restructuring the code.
  • Removed manual payment option:
    • The "Invoice Payment" option has been removed from the Payment Type dropdown under manual Payment in bookings. It is now located in the Billing tab.
  • Improved passenger details validation:
    • Validation has been updated to prevent illegal characters in the passenger name fields to ensure compatibility with Fortnox.
